William (Bill) Ivey, affectionately known as "Papa", 85, of Boone, North Carolina passed away on June 24, 2026, at home on Hummingbird Lane   with family by his side, after an amazing journey that was a blessing to all who knew him.

William was born on August 12, 1940, in York, South Carolina, to Charlotte (Jackson) and Lester Ivey who preceded him in death.

William is survived by wife, Lelia Martin Ivey, married on March 24, 1979, in Hillsborough, North Carolina. Lelia is the daughter of Luther and Elsie (Mills) Martin, born August 22, 1943, in Mason Dixon, Pennsylvania.

William is survived by sons: Zach (Carla) of Timberlake, North Carolina and grandson Jon (Sophia) of Greenville, North Carolina. John (Tarren) of Lexington, North Carolina and Hannah and Carter of Davidson, North Carolina and Jace of Lexington, North Carolina. Bradford (Brandy) of Deep Gap, North Carolina and grandchildren Kendra of Deep Gap; Bryson of Morganton, North Carolina, Kolt, and Hadley of Deep Gap. Blessings from family have been unmeasurable through the years.

William's siblings: Francis, Richard, Eugene and Ronald, also of South Carolina, passed away over the years. Many cousins and their families live in South Carolina.

Lelia's sibling: Lester (Millie Deceased) of San Francisco, California, Verna (J Deceased)) of Roanoke, Virginia, Wilma (JC) Thomas of Conroe, Texas, Sarah (Deceased) (William) Breinich of Mooresville, North Carolina, Ernest (Deceased) (Melanie) of Virginia, and Luther Howard (Mary)of Pharr, Texas all loved their brother-in-law.

Private family celebration for the family will be June 27, 2026.
