Wayne "World B." Otto, 64, of Wildwood Lane, Boone, passed way Tuesday morning, March 31, 2020, at Watauga Medical Center in Boone.

Wayne was born July 16, 1955 in Illinois, son of the late Walter and Vera Mae Knack Otto. He was the owner & operator of Pro-Am Sports in Boone.

He was raised in High Point, North Carolina. At High Point Central High School, he was a star tennis player which earned him a scholarship to Lees- McRrae Junior College. He then earned a scholarship to play tennis at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. ORU became one of the great loves of his life.

Wayne eventually made it back to the High Country in 1980 and opened up Pro Am Sports in the brand new Boone Mall. He later started up Gameworn Uniforms.com and sold online. His dynamic personality allowed him to develop relationships with sports teams all over the United States, professional and collegiate. Wayne traveled the country collecting game worn uniforms and equipment and then sold all over the world on Ebay.

He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Wayne was definitely a "Mans Man" He traveled the world skiing with friends, went to many Final Fours in college basketball, was able to attend college and professional football and basketball games just about every weekend in the Fall and Winter every year. You could even find him in Raleigh 10 or 12 times a year at Carolina Hurricanes hockey games.

Boy did hi like to eat also. Wayne went to some of the "Best" restaurants in the United States. He so enjoyed going to lunch and dinner. It was not complete unless he had friends to ho with him. And of course... "The more the merrier".

You could find Wayne in church every Sunday at Harvest House and if he was out of town I'm told, he made it to church somewhere. He loved his savior, Jesus Christ.

As was said earlier, he was a "Man's Man". Wayne love God, sports, politics and old music from the sixties and seventies. "Boy, will he be missed!"

Wayne is survived by one sister, Betsy Otto of High Point.
