Boone, NC - Mr. Walter Lee Hinshaw, age 85, of Boone, died Friday, January 5, 2024, at his home.

He is survived by his wife Carol Hendrix Hinshaw.  They were married 61 years.  He was also survived by three daughters Karen Hinshaw Hunt, Ann Hinshaw Rembach and Jenny Hinshaw.  Karen and her husband Ken Hunt and two children, Emmy Hunt and Tripp Hunt, live in Seattle, Washington.   Ann and her husband Jim Rembach and three children, Ava Rembach, Walt Rembach and Cullen Rembach, live in Greensboro, NC.  Jenny lives in New York City.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Walter Lee and Annie Lee Crater Hinshaw.

The family is holding a private service and burial due to flu, RSV and Covid.  The family will have a celebration of life in the late Spring.  His friends, family and the Boone Community will be invited to celebrate his life.  More details regarding the celebration to follow.
