Shirley Ann Jones Salas, age 85, passed away Monday, June 20, 2022, at her home in California.
She was born in Watauga County on April 17, 1937, to the late, William Harrison and Frances Eva Arnold Jones. She was a hair stylist for over 30 years, as well as a teacher of Cosmetology.
She is survived by: Her daughter, Sherry Pennell and her husband, Teddy of Boone, NC, four grandchildren, Sharee Brown and husband, David of Boone, NC, Brian and Matthew Pennell of Boone, NC, Hope Pennell of Boone, NC, and two great-grandsons, Alex and McKinley Carwile; Her daughter Sheila Bryan, one granddaughter, Rebecca Lynn and her husband, Brad Schwartz, one grandson, Ryan Lynn and his wife, Addie Jane Lynn, six great-grandchildren; Tristan Lynn, Titus Lynn, Tallulah Lynn, Talitha Lynn, Saylor Lynn-Schwartz, Murphy Lynn-Schwartz. Her daughter, Denise Michelle Greenberg and her husband, Glenn Greenberg, one grandson, Harrison Greenberg, one granddaughter, Francesca Greenberg; Her daughter, Monique Kleinfinger, and her husband, Rick Kleinfinger, one grandson, Paul Kleinfinger and his wife Michelle; two granddaughters, Samara Kleinfinger and Keira Kleinfinger, one great-grandson, Kash Kleinfinger; Her son, Darren Ahumada and his wife, Stephanie Ahumada, four grandsons, Jonathan Ahumada, Darren Jr. Ahumada, Theodore Ahumada, Ezra Ahumada, three granddaughters, Andrea Ahumada, Aurora Ahumada, Madison Ahumada;
Three sisters, Peggy Vannoy and her husband, James of Boone, NC, Betty Austin of Lenoir, NC, Wanda Proffitt and Gary of Boone, NC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Roy and Ted Jones, three sisters: Wilma Wilson, Louise Ragan, and Gladys Greene, one infant son, Homer Perry, Jr., and one grandson, Jonathan Carter Lynn.
Graveside services and burial will be conducted Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 4:00 PM, at Meat Camp Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Gordon Noble Will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:30, at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel.
