Sally Layne Conn passed away Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023 in Boone, NC after an extended illness. She was born on November 07, 1935 to William "Bill" Layne and Pauline Coleman Layne in Betsy Layne, KY. Sally was preceded in death by her parents William "Bill" Layne and Pauline Coleman Layne; beloved sisters, Bonnie Bessie Layne, Dorothy Jewell Layne, and Anna Ruth Layne Hayes; and bothers, Jack "Bee" Layne, Donald Howard Layne, and Kenneth Ray Layne.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Darvene Conn of Betsy Layne, KY; daughters, Robin Franklin and Stacy (Rob) Conn both of Boone, NC; and son Brett Conn of Betsy Layne, KY; grandsons Rudy Franklin and Bo Franklin (Michelle) Franklin of Boone; step grandchildren, Andrew (Laura) Mackorell and Ashely (Kyle) Bowen; step great granddaughters Kaelin and Leah Gaydon and great granddaughter Madison Layne Franklin all of Boone. Sally is also survived by her brother Albert Buford "Happy" (Pat) Layne of Betsy Layne: Sister in Law, Patricia Layne of Betsy Layne and many loving nieces and nephews.

The services will be conducted at the Betsy Layne Church of Christ with visitation on Thursday May 18th from 6-9pm and funeral on Friday May 19th at 2pm.

Sally loved little children and her church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Betsy Layne Church of Christ for the annual Bible School activities.
