Rosella Freeman (Stanbery), 89, previously of Morris, IL, passed away in Springfield, MO on December 25, 2023.  Born on June 6, 1934, in Boone, NC, she was the 3rd daughter of the seven children of the late Glen Stanbery, and Vanna (Miller) Stanbery.

On December 24, 1951, Rosella married John R. Freeman of Amelia, VA.  They were married 62 years upon John's passing in 2014. John called her Rose. She was a homemaker, raised three daughters, and the glue that kept the home together.

She drove a school bus for over 30 years for Wilmington and Morris, IL school districts, and for a time worked in the Morris High School cafeteria.  She retired at the age of 70, after serving her last years as a school bus aide.

Rose was a loved and respected member of Peace Chapel Assembly of God for over 40 years.  She showed her love for God by serving others in Sunday School, Women's Ministries, hospitality, and wherever she was needed.  She loved her church and church family.

Survived by two daughters, Donna Jackson of Bono, AR, and Karla (Paul) Weis of Springfield, MO; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; one sister, Glenna (Adam) Holler of Boone, NC, plus several beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and two brothers, and her youngest daughter, Lora Ortega.  She has won her battle and gone on to her reward!

Visitation for Rose will be held, Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 10:00 AM. to 11:00 AM at Peace Chapel Assembly of God, located at 852 School Street, in Morris, IL.  A Celebration of Rose's Life will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Spencer Duncan and Rev. Paul Weis officiating.

The burial will be at Sample Cemetery in Morris, IL.
