Phyllis Canter Church

Deep Gap, NC- Phyllis Wanda Sue Canter Church, age 75, died Sunday, August 9, 2026, at High Point Medical Center. Born May 29, 1951, in Watauga County, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Bessy Canter and wife of the late Bill Church.

Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Tracy Church.

She is survived by two sons: Gerald Church (Michelle) and Carson Church (Brenda) and 2 sisters: Ethel Canter Greer and Hazel Canter Dancy.

Phyllis was a loving mother and had a heart of gold. She was willing to help anyone in their time of need. She will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 12, 2026, in the Chapel of Hampton Funeral Service with Reverend Andy Watson officiating. Burial will follow in the Vanderpool Cemetery in Vilas.
