Paul Braswell, age 87, of Vilas, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023.

He was born April 12, 1936, in Caldwell County. A son of the late Ray and Dorothy Phillips Braswell.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Roark Braswell; three sons, Paul Lee Braswell and wife, Linda, Michael Braswell, William "Dennis" Braswell and wife, Lisa; and daughter, Mary Ruth Ward and husband, Paul; seven grandchildren, Danielle Braswell, Amanda Braswell, James Braswell, Ray Braswell, Vanessa Braswell, Maci Ruth Guy, Ashlyn Braswell, Kailyn Braswell; two brothers, Gerald Braswell of Georgia; Jackie Braswell of Tennesse; two sisters-in-law, Bernice Braswell, Imogene Braswell; and multiple great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, JR, Dean, Robert, Bobby, and Larry Braswell.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church. Reverend Johnny Goodman and Reverend Chad Everhart will officiate. Interment will follow in the Upper Beaver Dams Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel.
