Mr. Larry Allen Stafford, age 74, of Lake Placid, FL and Blowing Rock, NC, died Wednesday, March 29, 2023, in Boone, NC.

Larry was a son of the late John R. and Betty Collins Stafford and the husband of Mayra Medina Stafford, with whom he shared over 50 years of marriage.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant brother and his son-in-law, Patrick R. Lackey.

Larry was a proud veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard.  He was brilliant with computers and spent his career with Laird Plastics and Siemens Electronics in their technology departments.  Anything to do with computers was where you would find Larry.

Staying busy and working hard were two of his traits.  As a young man he played football and as he went through life, he loved golf and photography.  In Boca Raton, he was involved in Youth sports where he refereed soccer for both youth and adults and loved coaching baseball.

Other than his wife Mayra, he is survived by his daughter, Patricia S. Lackey of Blowing Rock; his son, James "Jim" Robert Stafford, and wife Gina of Lake Placid, FL; one brother, Robert Preston "Uncle Bob" Stafford and wife Linda of Richmond, VA; and his Grandchildren, J.R., Vincent R., Joseph, John, Ada R. and Gatlin R.

A service celebrating Larry's life will be held at a later date.
