Jorge
Veitia
Feb 2, 1968 — Jun 13, 2023
Zionville
Jorge E. Veitia, age 55 of Zionville, passed away June 13, 2023.
Jorge was born on February 2, 1968, to Jorge Veitia and the late Leonides Veitia Hernandez. He lived in Miami, FL until moving to Boone, NC in 2020.
His family was his passion. He is survived by his loving wife Rebekah and their two sons, Isaac and Benaiah; his father, Jorge Veitia; his sister Laura Veitia and wife Tina; and his brother Daniel Veitia; as well as two nieces and a nephew.
He was entrepreneur and a man of vision. But it was his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ that led him to full-time ministry. In 2012 he and Rebekah began a new work, Sharing One Love, a networking and resource hub for anti-human trafficking organizations. His faith also filled his life with joy and love that spilled over to all who were around him.
It seemed that Jorge never met a stranger. When visiting or moving to a new community, he would get to know his neighbors and seek out the unique places to eat (and get to know the owners and staff).
Music was among his many interests. He played the trumpet in high school, enjoyed playing his guitar, and was part of the worship team at Mountainside Community Church in Boone.
His adventures included cross-country motorcycle trips and creating, cooking, and serving amazing food to family and friends. His sons will miss his arroz con pollo and fantastic sandwiches.
A memorial service will be held at Camp Sky Ranch, 634 Sky Ranch Rd, Blowing Rock, NC 28605-8231, Tuesday, June 20, at 6:00 pm. There will be a potluck and time of sharing following the service for anyone who wishes to stay.
