The Hempfling family & the High Country have lost a beloved member of the community. John Edward Hempfling, age 42, was a skilled carpenter & master craftsman who built beautiful houses in the mountains he called home. John was a charismatic, lovable person whose kind heart led him to be willing to do anything to help his friends & family. His patient and kind demeanor were well favored by his friends and John was always ready with a compliment or words of encouragement. John's friends and family loved his infectious spark for adventure and fun. His siblings will miss his generous spirit, calming nature, and genuine heart. One of his sisters says it beautifully-John was courageous, the man who "never feared the dark, but always brought the light." John's parents will always hold dear his strong desire to keep them happy & healthy. Fond memories flood our hearts as we remember John's infectious smile, loving sincere brown eyes and warm hugs. Although losing him has left a painful void in our lives & hearts we find comfort in knowing he is at peace.

A receiving of family and friends will be held Sunday, July 7, 2024, at White Crow, 401 White Crow Lane, Banner Elk, North Carolina.
