Obituary

Janet Coffey Gregg 2/2/1956 - 9/29/2026

Born with a great sense of humor in Watauga County on groundhogs' day. Janet was a loyal, faithful Witness of Jehovah for over 40 years who loved her Creator and the beauty of creation, especially puppies, kittens and turtles but hated earthworms after her cousin George Cook looked at her plate of spaghetti and told her to eat her worms. She never liked spaghetti after that either.

She is survived by her husband of almost 44 years Pete Gregg, her sisters Joyce Wright and Sharon Wolfe, special aunts Jean (Sammy} Taylor, Shirley (Alton) Taylor and cousins Theresa and Rita along with many other cousins, nieces and nephews mostly from Aho.

She lost her mother Genevieve Coffey, father Thurmond Ford, sister Sheila Chambers, Aunt Ruby (Lester) Bolick as well as other loved ones before her. Janet is asleep in death now away from sickness and suffering until Isaiah 26:19 is fulfilled "Your dead will live. My corpses will rise up. Awake and shout joyfully, You residents in the dust! ... And the earth will let those powerless in death come to life.

There will never be another Janet, the perfect match for Pete. One good thing, at least you don't have to wake up to Pete blowing his nose like a ship coming into harbor and you don't have to look at that ugly tiller he never got around to fixing. It will probably still be sitting there after the resurrection. You sure left a huge hole in his heart.
