James William WeybrechtIt is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James William Weybrecht, whose life was defined by his love for family, dedication to his work, and commitment to his community.James was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who touched the lives of many through his kindness, generosity, and quiet strength. He believed that the greatest measure of a life was not found in accomplishments alone, but in the relationships built and the people cared for along the way.

Throughout his career as Police officer with the Suffolk County Police departmemt, James earned the respect of colleagues through his integrity, hard work, and willingness to help others. Beyond his professional life, he was a proud US Navy veteran, active member of his community, and always ready to lend a hand, volunteer his time, or support those in need.James found joy in many ways over the years. In his younger days he loved riding his Harley and working on his vintage cars while his kids watched and asked a million questions. Whether he was spending time outdoors boating and fishing or simply enjoying the company of family and friends, he appreciated life's simple moments and created lasting memories with those he loved.

Above all, James cherished his family. He is survived by his wife Joy Ann Weybrecht, children James Webrecht, Wendy Weybrecht, Carrie Tuma, Jonathan Weybrecht, Audrey McDonald, and Joeseph Weybrecht, multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren, and his brother Robert Weybrecht. He was preceded in death by his parents Gordon (Buzz) and Ruth Weybrecht.James's legacy of love, compassion, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, his example and the memories he created will remain a lasting source of comfort and inspiration.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm on August 2, 2026, at Zionville Baptist Church, 8174 Old US Hwy 421 Zionville NC 28698.The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered prayers, support, and kindness during this difficult time.
