Harold Gene Redmon age 88 of Blowing Rock, passed away Thursday August 27, 2026, at Watauga Medical Center.

He survived by one son, Kelly Redmon and his wife, Michele, of Banner Elk; one granddaughter, Victoria Vanlinden and her husband, Worth Vanlinden, of Athens, GA; one daughter, Lisa Redmon, of Whispering Pines, NC; and one grandson, Logan Coffey of Whispering Pines, NC; brother, Andrew Redmon, Jr. and wife Alice of Lincoln, Nebraska; and close companion, Merle Adams.

In addition to his father and mother he was preceded in death by one brother Jack Redmon, two sisters Sue England and Margaret Atkins.

He was born on December 24, 1937, in Middlesboro, Kentucky. The son of the late Andrew and Eula Mae Hembry Redmon. He was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force, enjoyed fishing and will always be remembered for his dedication to the national Park Service.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Thursday September 3, 2026, at Brushy Fork Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Pastor John Mark Brown Will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Brushy Fork Baptist Church Rebuild Fund, 3915 US 421 N. Vilas, North Carolina 28692.
