Gladys Miller Townsend, age 87, of Boone went home to be with her Lord and Savior, February 15, 2023, at her home.

She was born March 21, 1935, in Watauga County. A daughter of the late Howard and Blanche Miller. She was a member of Boone Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn Townsend of Boone, one son, Bobby Townsend of Boone, one grandson, Christopher Townsend of Boone, one brother, Ray Miller of Boone and one sister, Elizabeth Wood of Smyrna , Georgia, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father and mother she was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Wade Miller.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, February 19, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Hampton Funeral  Home Chapel. Pastor Kenny Newberry will officiate. Interment will follow in Mount Lawn Memorial Park and Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00, prior to the service.
