David Teague, age 84, of Boone passed away Monday, May 22, 2023, at Watauga Medical Center surrounded by family.

He was born January 28, 1939, in Watauga County, a son of the late Odell and Gladyce Hayes Teague. David worked as a lineman with Blue Ridge Energies for thirty-five and half years, he cherished his forever friendships that he developed with his co-workers.
After retiring, David enjoyed working on his Christmas tree farm and spending time with his grandchildren, which the love for his grandchildren could easily be seen in his eyes while they were together.
David was an avid member of the Boone Advent Christian Church where he practiced his strong Christian faith and enjoyed the fellowship of his church family which was vitally important to him.
David loved saltwater fishing from the piers of Oak Island and could easily out last his fishing buddies in their younger years.

He is survived by his wife Carol Hayes Teague of the home, two sons, Michael Teague and wife Nancy of Boone and Chris Teague and wife Karen of Creedmoor, one granddaughter, Ashlyn Teague of Creedmoor, five grandsons, Jonathan Teague of Boone, Chayse Teague of the home, Riley Goheen and wife Jennifer of Burnsville, Judah Goheen and wife Megan of Boone and John Goheen of Boone. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and Great-grandchildren and his beloved dog, Millie.

In addition to his father and mother he was preceded in death by his brother, Dayton Teague and sister, Bonnie Hamby.

Funeral services for David Teague will be conducted Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Boone Advent Christian Church. Pastor Mitch Marlowe and Pastor Gordon Noble will officiate. Interment will follow in Simmons Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00, prior to the service.
