Frankie Oliver Stokes, age 88, of Boone, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, December 30, 2023, in her home in Boone, NC.

Frankie was born September 6, 1935, in the North Fork community of Zionville, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Luther Charles Oliver Sr. and Margaret Norris Oliver.

Frankie is survived by her daughter Teresa Stokes Johnson and husband, Rudy. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Ruth Stokes Creed (Dennis) of Boone, Ann Stokes of Chilhowie, VA, and Elaine Oliver of Amarillo, TX. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Len Stokes, three brothers and one sister: L.C. Oliver, Jr.; John Oliver; Jones Oliver, and Christine Oliver Stokes Critcher. She was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law and sisters-in law: Hensel Stokes and wife, Pearl; Roger Stokes; two infant boys; Ralph Stokes and wife Gladys; Edward Stokes; Bill Stokes and wife Mary; Landon Stokes and wife Betty; Jim Stokes; Peggy Stokes Clark Banner and husband Ray Clark; Margaret Oliver, and Ruth Oliver.

A funeral for Frankie Oliver Stokes will be conducted Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Officiating will be Rev. Bradley Swift and Rev. Mike Townsend. Burial will follow in Mount Lawn Memorial Park and Gardens.

The family requests no food. The family wishes to express love and gratitude to the Medi Home Health & Hospice personnel for their tireless efforts, genuine caring spirit, and expertise in Frankie's care.
