Elizabeth Suggs Carrin (Beth), age 89 of Boone, NC, left this Earth to be with the Lord on April 14, 2024. Beth and her family are long-time residents of Boone, NC. Beth taught many years at Hardin Park and Parkway Elementary schools. She was a beloved teacher, active in her community and her church, an avid golfer, a lifetime traveler, and a champion senior athlete from the local to the national level.

Those left to cherish her memory are Dr. Harold Carrin, her loving husband of 68 years, son, John Carrin and Jane Werner, daughter, Christy Krusiewig and Chris Hamilton, beloved granddaughter, Alex Krusiewig, twin sister, playmate, and partner in mischief, Jane Suggs Weise and Duane Weise, and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins, whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Talmage and Lena Suggs, and her fun-loving brother, Morris Suggs.
She loved hard, and she loved well!

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 9 at Deerfield United Methodist Church, 1184 Deerfield Rd., Boone, NC 28607.  The family will receive friends from 1-3 PM with the service following at 3 PM. Pastor Wes Austin will officiate. Entombment will follow in Mount Lawn Memorial Park and Gardens Mausoleum.

Beth found great joy exploring the boundless beauty of nature, especially hiking in her southern Appalachian Mountains. In lieu of flowers, please make a gift in her memory to the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, 799 Washington Street, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425 or Deerfield United Methodist Church in Boone.
