Dena Lawrence Comer, age 52, died Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Watauga Medical Center. Born December 29, 1970, in Watauga County, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Mariam Kincaid Lawrence.

Dena loved caring for others, especially her husband Bruce, who was the love of her life. She was funny, compassionate, vibrant, beautiful, and a true friend to many. She was a giving, sweet soul and today it's so fitting that she will be giving life to others.

Dena brought a light into this world so bright that will remain with us forever. She loved her God, and we know she is resting in the arms of Jesus now. She will be loved forever and will never, ever be forgotten.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bruce Comer; her siblings, Gerald Lawrence of Vilas; Sue Barber and husband Reverend Douglas Barber of Danville, VA; John Lawrence and wife Sarah of Winston-Salem; Thomas Lawrence and wife Lula of Sugar Grove; Edwin Lawrence and friend Debra of Charlotte; Allen Lawrence of Salisbury; Joel Lawrence and wife Regina of Rockwell and her sister-in-law, Susan Blackwelder and husband Sid of Conway, SC.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Charlie Martin will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00, prior to the service.
