David Leroy Miller, age 91, of Maryland, a native and former resident of Watauga County, passed away, Thursday, April 20, 2023.

He was born December 11, 1931, in Watauga County. A son of the late Joseph Miller and Ada Winebarger Miller and was a retired carpenter.

He is survived two daughters, Deidra Tipton and husband Billy of Hickory and Teresa Miller of Baltimore, Maryland, one granddaughter, Katie Tipton of Hickory and one brother, Glenn Miller of Baltimore, Maryland and several special nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father and mother he was preceded in death by his wife, B. Joann Wilcox and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Roger Hilemon will officiate. Interment will follow in Hopewell Community Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00, prior to the service.
