Darius Tyler Mackey, age 24, passed away peacefully at his home on December 8, 2023. Darius grew up in Boone and is a Watauga High School graduate. He enjoyed listening to music, taking walks, traveling with his Nana, and being surrounded by friends and family to blow kisses to. Darius is the son of Jennifer Denny and husband Mark Denny Jr. of Fleetwood, Duwan Mackey and fiancée Jennifer Rzeszut of Boone. Grandparents Gerald Lipford and wife Lori Lipford of Colorado, Tracey Conway and husband Brian Franklin of Beaver Dam. Darius joins his late grandfather James Dauler, and late grandmother Lora Skattebo in Heaven.

Darius is survived by his brother, Dalton Mackey, uncle, aunts, and many cousins. Services will be held for Darius at Cornerstone Summit, 1100 E King St in Boone on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Darius will be cremated, and his family would appreciate donations to Hampton's Funeral Service in lieu of flowers or gifts to help with these services.
