Catherine Phillips Thomas, age 90 of Zionville, NC, passed away peacefully at her home on April 28, 2023.

Born to the late Oscar and Hazel Phillips on July 28, 1932, Catherine grew up in Trade, TN with a brother and sister.

Catherine always had a smile for everyone. She was a hard worker and enjoyed gardening and quilting. She always had an abundant garden and she shared it with anyone who needed it. Her Dahlia flowers were beautiful and enjoyed by so many.

She made quilts for each one of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Every stitch was done by hand and sewn with love. Her family was her pride and joy, and she enjoyed every minute spent with her great-grandchildren.

Catherine is survived by daughter, Sue Thomas; a son, David Thomas; a daughter-in-law, Ann Thomas. She is also survived by grandchildren, Garret and wife, Della; Spencer and wife, Julia; Angela Bowen; Lisa Booth and husband Chris. Also, surviving are great-grandchildren. Aubrie, Jasper, Levi and (soon to be born) Silas Thomas and Parker Adams. Other special friends who were considered family; Norman Locke, Jim Hollar and Miranda Schooley, Allen and Terri Miller and Johnny and Linda Johnson. She also had several special cousins who stayed close through the years.

In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Thomas; a son, Dwight Thomas; a daughter-in-law, Pat Thomas, and a sister.

Funeral services will be conducted at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 o'clock on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. Officiating will be Preacher Derick Wilson. Interment will follow in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00, prior to the service.
