Betty Watson Church, age 75 of Gastonia, a former resident of Watauga County passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Atrium Health Carolina's Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

She was born August 18, 1948, in Wilkes County. A daughter of the late Allie Lee Watson and Pansie Greene Watson. She retired from Freightliners after over 20 years of service, she was a long-time member of Laurel Springs Baptist Church where she was the pianist and decorated for various events. She was also the flower coordinator for numerous weddings at various locations.

She is survived by her husband Charles Church of Gastonia, one sister-in-law, Pat Greene of Boone, one brother-in-law, Doyle Church and wife Debra of Deep Gap, their daughters, nieces Michele Earp, Tiffany Minor, and Traci Pope, niece Annette Watson, one nephew, Chris Greene, two great-nieces, Lindsey Greene and Candis Webb and husband Jesse, three great-nephews, Andrew Greene and partner Kristan Carter, Tantem and Mason Webb, and one great-great-nephew, Ethan Greene.

In addition to her father and mother she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Amanda Leigh Church and two brothers, Jim and Bill Greene.

A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Laurel Springs Baptist Church. Pastor Anthony Silvers will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00, prior to the service.
