Elk Park NC- Berlyn Ward, age 90 of Flat Springs Road, Elk Park, passed away Monday morning, October 2nd, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Berlyn was born March 18th, 1933, in Elizabethton Tennessee, a daughter of the late Arthur Turbyfill and Lillie Eggers Turbyfill.  She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and caregiver to many. Berlyn was a member of Faith Baptist Mission Church.

Berlyn was survived by three daughters, Leta Trivette of Newland, Patsy Potter and husband Randy, and April Ward and husband Shawn, all of Elk Park: five sons, Donley Ward, and Larry Ward and wife Donna of Elk Park, Arville Ward of Mountain City, Tennessee, Randell Ward, and wife Libby, of Boone and Jamie Ward and wife Heather of Todd. She is also survived by one sister, Thelma Ward of Sugar Grove, and one brother, Junior Turbyfill of Elizabethton. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Conard Ward, her parents, Arthur and Lillie Eggers Turybfill, as well as her son-in-law, Sammy Trivette, two sisters, Ruah Eggers and Theddy Rasnick

A Funeral celebrating the life of Berlyn Ward will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 5, 2023, in the Chapel of Hampton Funeral Service with Preacher David Ward, Preacher Richard Trivette, and Pastor Daniel Lawrence officiating.  Graveside service will follow in the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery with Preacher David Ward and Preacher Doug Rasnick officiating.

Pallbearers will be:  Chris Ward, Zach Ward, Matt Ward, Sammy Joe Trivette, Brett Trivette, Jared Ward, Charlie Ward and Brady Ward.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:00 until 2:00 prior to the service at Hampton Funeral Service.
