Barbara "Toni" Chipman, formerly of Boone, passed away September 24, 2023 at age 91 at Pruitt Health Skilled Nursing in Durham, North Carolina. Leaving the town and home she loved, Toni moved to Raleigh, NC in 2016 due to declining health.

Toni is survived by her three sons, Keith Chipman and wife Kathy of Raleigh, Mark Chipman and wife Sharon of Ferguson and Brian Chipman and wife Stella Anderson of Boone, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Carol Scott and husband Ed Scott of North Wilkesboro. Toni was a caring, giving woman who held a special place in her heart for her family and friends. She will also be remembered and missed by her many friends and co-workers at J.C. Penney's, Boone Mall.

Please join her family in celebrating her life. The funeral service will be conducted on October 21, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:15 until 1:00. Following the service, Toni will be laid to rest at a private interment at Mount Lawn Memorial Park and Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
