Deepest, belated condolences for the family of one of my fondest memories of high school at West Meck. She was a great teacher and friend.

Just found out that Ms. McKaraher has passed away recently. My prayers are with the family during this difficult time. I remember having Ms. McKaraher for Chemistry my junior year at West Meck. in 1969-70. It was her first year teaching and I remember that she was a great teacher. Sorry for your loss. Betty Hager

Dear Family, I was so sorry to hear of Linda's passing. I regret that I will not be able to be with you today. I worked with Linda at West Mecklenburg HS when she came to work in the Media Center. She was a great intelligent lady and we had many great conversations. She always enjoyed talking about her family. She was so proud of her brother and loved her niece and nephew so very much. She always loved to show us new pictures of them. She loved her mother and enjoyed going to see her and to make sure that all was well in Boone. After her retirement we would meet to have lunch and I would enjoy hearing about her trips and activities. I will miss being able to see her again. My prayers are centainly with all of you during this time.

I was saddened to learn that Linda lost her "fight" with cancer. I worked with Linda in the 80's at West Mecklenburg High School. I was one of the media specialists and she was a great chemistry teacher! She later joined the ranks of CMS media specialists. I remember driving with her to "The Market"-the annual CMS media event at the beginning of the school year. She loved being a "librarian". The last time I saw her was at our annual CMS Shelved Librarians Luncheon. I will miss her smile and friendliness.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of her family and Graham Somers. You have my deepest sympathy.

Connie

As Linda's step niece, I have looked up to her since we met in 1965. Her beauty and grace as a teenager inspired me. Although the miles and years distanced us we reconnected after her diagnosis and have shared thoughts on treatments, traditional and alternative, on how much she respected her doctors and nurses. We bonded over advocacy and her stories of the TEAL MAGNOLIA ovarian cancer support group which she loved.

Her family gave her faith, her brother Charles and sister in law Anne's medical knowledge and steadfast care gave her confidence and her special friend Gram Somers gave her love, comfort and a purpose. She gave me inspiration and I look up to her still.
