Myrtle Ann Harris Church, age 61, of 887 Hidden Valley Drive, Boone, died Thursday morning, October 18, 2012, at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City.
Mrs. Church is survived by one son, Spencer Church of the Foscoe Community; two step-daughters, Pam Church Smith and husband Harvey of Foscoe, and Lori Church; one sister, Cora McKensie of Foscoe; one brother, Henry Harris and wife Kathy of Butler, Tennessee, and a special friend, James Norwood of Foscoe. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Finley E. Church; her father and mother, Dewey M. Harris and Elnor Hartley Harris; one sister, Nadine Richardson; one brother, William Dewey Harris; one step-daughter, Sandra Shaw, and one nephew, Martin Harris.
Funeral services for Myrtle Ann Harris Church will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, October 23, 2012, at 2:00 o'clock, at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The body will lie in state, at the chapel, from 1:00 until 2:00 o'clock. Officiating will be Reverend Jeff Fox. Burial will follow in the Foscoe Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday evening, from 7:00 until 9:00 o'clock, at Hampton Funeral Service. At other times, friends may call at the home of her sister, Cora McKenzie, 180 Byrd Street, the Foscoe Community.
