Richard Howlett, age 76, of Highway 194 North, Boone, died Saturday afternoon, September 1, 2012, at University Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Mr. Howlett is survived by one son, Richard Earl Howlett, Jr.; two daughters, Cheryl Simpson and Helen Buchanan; nine grandchildren and three step-children.

A celebration of Richard's life will be held Saturday morning, September 8, 2012, at 11:00 o'clock, at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Reverend Lynn Powers.

The family will receive friends following the service.
