Irene Elizabeth Galatis, age 87, of 418 Dogwood Lane, Blowing Rock ,died Tuesday August 21, 2012, at Watauga Medical Center.

Mrs. Galatis is survived by two sons, Dwight Laughter, and David Laughter and wife Linda, all of Blowing Rock; one sister Doris Lewis of Hickory, one grandson, David Laughter, Jr. and his wife Noelle of Chicago, two great-grandchildren David Laughter, III and Jack Laughter, both of Chicago.

A memorial service for Mrs. Irene Galatis will be conducted Saturday morning, August 25, 2012, at 11:00 o'clock, at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be The Reverend Dr. Lynn Stall.

The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
